Insulation removal

Attic Insulation Removal

Old insulation should come out when it is wet, moldy, compressed, contaminated by rodents, or in the way of the new plan. We remove it, clean the attic floor, and get it ready for new insulation.

Signs it should come out

  • Droppings, nesting or odor from rodents
  • Water stains, roof leaks or mold
  • Insulation that is flat, patchy or far below the depth it should be
  • A plan to spray foam on the roof deck where old floor insulation is not needed

How removal works

  1. Inspection. We check what is there and why it should come out.
  2. Protection. We protect the path through your home.
  3. Removal. Old insulation is removed and bagged for disposal.
  4. Clean-up. The attic floor is cleared and ready for new insulation.

If rodents are still active, deal with them first so the new insulation stays clean. We can tell you what we see, but pest control is a separate trade.
